Ian Evatt has vowed that Joel Dixon has a 'bright future' at Bolton Wanderers after the signing of James Trafford. Manchester City stopper Trafford arrrived on loan last week at Wanderers from the Premier League champions in the fourth signing Bolton have made this January transfer window.
Evatt made the decision to hand Trafford his Bolton debut last weekend against Ipswich Town, which in turn meant Dixon dropped to the bench versus the Tractor Boys. Evatt knows Dixon well from his time at Barrow and at Wanderers too, signing the goalkeeper last summer from his old club. But the Bolton boss believes that all footballers go through rough spells on the pitch, like Dixon has of late, and feels at times other players can step into the breach and take the pressure off.
Evatt hopes that a spell on the sidelines, however long that may last, will help Dixon to recapture some of his form. Evatt said: “Joel is a fantastic character.
