Jeremy Renner wasn’t sure if he would survive his snowplow accident when it happened, and just in case, revealed he wrote a goodbye note to his loved ones.

In a brand new clip from his upcoming interview with Diane Sawyer, the 52-year-old opened up about what was going through his head at the time and the events that led to the accident. Keep reading to find out more… On top of discussing his time in the hospital after the accident, Jeremy shared that he wrote a goodbye letter to his family while in critical condition. “If I was there, on my own, that’d [have] been a horrible way to die.

And surely I would’ve. Surely. But I wasn’t alone,” Jeremy recalled in the clip. “It was my nephew. Sweet Alex, and the rest of the cavalry came.” He then revealed that as his thoughts turned to what was going to happen next, he made sure to write “down notes in my phone to — last words to my family.” If you recall, Jeremy was injured during a New Year’s Day accident on his property near Reno, Nevada, and was run over by a 14,330-pound snow plow while aiding a family member who was stuck in the snow after a storm.

He suffered over 30 broken bones from the accident and was airlifted to the hospital. If you missed it, the 911 phone call detailing his injuries was released. Jeremy‘s full interview airs Thursday, April 6 on ABC, and the next day on Hulu.
