Jeremy Renner‘s first TV interview since his snow plow accident just aired on ABC and new details about the terrifying experience have been revealed.

The 52-year-old Oscar-nominated actor chatted with Diane Sawyer and discussed what happened in the moments before the accident, which occurred on New Year’s Day in Nevada. Jeremy and his 27-year-old nephew Alex were using the snow plow to tow a Ford Raptor out of the snow and after they successfully completed the task, Alex disconnected the chain between the two vehicles. Jeremy was in the plow as it began to slide on ice and he was worried for Alex‘s safety, so he stuck one foot out of the plow to look back, but he forgot to step on the parking brake. Jeremy lost his footing and fell out of the snow plow.
