Janey Godley said her final goodbye to ''the city she loved" today. The Scots star was accompanied by a 100-strong female choir and best pal Shirley Doig on a "final tour" of Edinburgh.Janey passed away surrounded by loved ones at the Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow on November 2 following a battle with ovarian cancer.Last night (Thursday) Janey's daughter Ashley Storrie shared an update with fans, reminding them "everyone is welcome" as the late comic's hearse made its way along the Royal Mile today and through the streets of the capital for one last time.

Ashley said: "Hello friends, Ashley here. This weekend is mum's funeral. I'll be heading to Edinburgh tomorrow to watch her car travel the royal mile."I'm sure I'll see some of you there and then on Saturday her funeral is in Glasgow.

You're all welcome. It's what she wanted."Janey's "final tour" farewell is taking place across two days, culminating in a private cremation in the west end of Glasgow on Saturday.

The hearse, organised by funeral directors Alexander Whitelaw & Co, started Janey’s final farewell to Edinburgh from Lawnmarket at 2.30pm today.
