Janey Godley has bid her 'final farewell' to her "beloved Festival Home" of Edinburgh as mourners lined the streets of the Royal Mile to pay their respects to the late Scottish comedian. The 60-year-old passed away surrounded by her loved ones at the Princess of Wales Hospice in Glasgow on November 2 following a tough battle with ovarian cancer.Hundreds of fans gathered in the capital city at around 2pm this afternoon on November 29 as a hearse carrying Janey's coffin began it's journey through the city from Lawnmarket at 2:30pm on Friday. The hearse which was topped with colourful flowers proceeded down the Royal Mile and towards St Giles Cathedral as Janey was carried through the city she spent many years performing in for one last time.Fans were dressed in multicoloured hats and jumpers, a request made by Janey herself, as the crowds broke out into a round of applause for the late comedian on her final tour of the city.Among them was Janey's best pal Shirley Doig who accompanied the coffin alongside a 100-strong female choir.Janey is now returning back to Glasgow, where she was born, ahead of her funeral tomorrow on Saturday November 30.In a post on X, Janey's daughter Ashley Storrie previously said: "For the past few years of Ma's life, it was important to her that she shared her journey with everyone, to offer support for others on the same path and to highlight the symptoms of Ovarian Cancer - all of course in her very singular Janey style, with laughter and candour.""So many of you who have travelled with us on this journey wish to bid her a final farewell, so here's the details of my mum's final tour, in the two cities she loved with all her heart."
