He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

He is also known for appearing on the third series of I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, and the thirteenth series of Strictly Come Dancing, in which he was partnered with Janette Manrara.

Jane McDonald breaks silence as it's revealed she'll replace Phillip Schofield at Soap Awards

Jane McDonald has broken her silence after it was revealed that she will replace Phillip Schofield as host at the British Soap Awards following Phil admitting to having lied to ITV.The 60 year old was announced as Phillip’s replacement earlier today.

Presenter Jane then took to social media to share her excitement with her followers as she described the role as a “dream come true”.

She penned: “I'm so excited to be this years host for The British Soap Awards!! Everyone knows how much I LOVE my soaps, this year I’ve been honoured to be mentioned in Corrie, EastEnders and Emmerdale so this is just a dream come true. “I can’t wait to see all our wonderful soap nominees and celebrate all their hard work with them - roll on the awards, I can’t wait! “The British Soap Awards - watch this Tuesday, 8pm, @itv & @itvxofficial” Fans joined in on Jane’s excitement as one wrote: “Absolutely brilliant news ….

I don’t watch the soaps but I love watching you so shall be tuning in….. we need to see more of you on the TV…. Well done darling.” Another commented: “Congratulations Jane, I’ll watch it now you’re presenting”, while a third said: “Congratulations, couldn’t have went to a better person.
