Jennifer Lynn Lopez (born July 24, 1969), also known by her nickname J.Lo, is an American actress, singer, dancer, fashion designer, producer and businesswoman. In 1991, Lopez began appearing as a Fly Girl dancer on In Living Color, where she remained a regular until she decided to pursue an acting career in 1993. For her first leading role in the 1997 Selena biopic of the same name, Lopez received a Golden Globe nomination and became the first Latin actress to earn over US$1 million for a film. She went on to star in Anaconda (1997) and Out of Sight (1998), later establishing herself as the highest-paid Latin actress in Hollywood.

We’ve got Jennifer Lopez to thank for the return of Jane Fonda. In a recent interview, the 84-year-old “Grace and Frankie” star explained how starring in a movie with Lopez helped revive her dormant acting career. I was almost 65 years old when I got this script out of the blue. It was the only smart career thing I ever did,” she recalled. “I thought, ‘People are going to come to the movie to see J.Lo, but they’ll rediscover Fonda’, and that’s what happened.” Released in 2005, “Monster-in-Law” was Fonda’s first movie since starring in the 1990 romance “Stanley & Iris”, opposite Robert De Niro. Fonda will next be seen in the comedy “Moving On”, also starring Tomlin, as well as the sequel “Book Club 2: The Next Chapter”, due out next spring.
