Popular TV chef Jamie Oliver has revealed that his wife Jools Oliver has been suffering with 'long Covid' for two years. As he promoted a new cookbook and TV show, the long-running chef told MailPlus that he was dedicating his newest book to his wife - who he met over 30 years ago - saying: "If I can’t dedicate a book to the one I love, what can I do?
I’ve used up all my best tricks on birthdays and anniversaries so now I’m grovelling!" Jamie, 46, went on to reveal that his family had had a tough couple of years, with mum of five Jools, 47, suffering with Covid and its longterm affects, or "long Covid" which can affect some people who have contracted the virus.
Jamie explained: "She’s had bad Covid and long Covid, so she’s been really affected by it, sadly. "She’s OK, but still not what she wants to be. "It’s been two years.
She finds it deeply scary. We’re all over Harley Street like a rash, but no one really knows anything. The data on long Covid is still piling in." He then praised his wife of 22 years, saying: "She’s been an absolute superstar." Office for National Statistics says that, overall, 1.8million Britons are estimated to have long Covid.
