It was announced on Monday that Fury would be pulling out of the fight after suffering a broken rib whilst also struggling with a bacterial chest infection.
The Manchester-born fighter has said that his camp had not gone to plan from early on and struggled throughout the last four weeks.
Paul will still fight on December 18, facing Tyron Woodley in a rematch having won their first meeting in August via a split decision.
