Jadon Sancho has praised Alejandro Garnacho for his display in Manchester United’s 1-1 friendly draw with Rayo Vallecano on Sunday.
The teenager was arguably the team’s standout player in his first summer outing in front of fans. After failing to play at all during United ’s pre-season tour of Thailand and Australia, the Argentine has made a late dash for inclusion in Erik ten Hag’s plans this campaign.
Garnacho netted in last week’s 4-1 behind closed doors friendly win over Wrexham, and proved to be a live-wire against Vallecano, building on his memorable season at youth level last term. Many had tipped him to be the breakthrough player on the tour, but that honour was shared between Zidane Iqbal and Charlie Savage.
