Football fans were also in town for the next day's Russia and Germany game at Old Trafford. Just before 9.20am on June 15, 1996, two men in cagoules and sunglasses parked a Ford Cargo van on double yellow lines outside Marks and Spencer on the corner of Cannon Street and Corporation Street.
