Her Majesty the Queen is gearing up to spend the second Christmas in a row at Windsor Castle. Due to the pandemic, the monarch has taken the decision to downsize her Christmas plans.

Usually, the 95 year old travels to Sandringham Palace in Norfolk where the extended family meet for the festive season. Last year, due to increased Covid restrictions the Queen remained at her main residence of Windsor Castle for the first time in 32 years.

Ordinarily, members of the Royal family gather and walk to St Mary Magdalene church at Sandringham, greeting members of the public outside.
