Indigo Sparke shares “Hysteria”

Indigo Sparke's upcoming album Hysteria is an astonishing listen, written in the dead center of grieving a relationship directly after it ended.

Produced by Aaron Dessner of The National, the album (out October 7) builds on Sparke's 2021 debut Echo (produced by Adrianne Lenker of Big Thief) with the title track offering a window into Sparke's maximalist feelings and stunning vocals.

It's notable that a song about uncontrollable emotions feels this cogent and serene. The "Hysteria" video brings a little of the manic energy in the subtext higher into the mix though as Sparke, decked out in full wedding regalia, runs through the streets of New York.
