Iconic breakfast show Soccer AM axed after 28 years on the box

Sky Sports shocked fans as they decided to axe fan favourite show, Soccer AM, after a staggering 28 years on the air. Since 1995, Soccer AM has aired on a Saturday morning during the football season.

Sky Sports announced on Wednesday that the current season would be its last, leaving just 10 episodes before the show leaves the air once and for all.

A Sky spokesperson said in a statement issued today: "Soccer AM has played an important role in our coverage of football for the past three decades, and we continually adapt to the evolving needs of our customers. "We now go into a period of consultation to discuss the proposed changes with our people.
