Simon Gregson has admitted that he vowed never to go on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! but was convinced otherwise by his family.

On Wednesday, it was finally confirmed that the Coronation Street star would be entering the Gwrych Castle camp on Thursday's episode of the ITV show alongside EastEnders' Adam Woodyatt.

And speaking ahead of his hotly anticipated arrival on the show, which has already seen a lot of drama, the 47 year old explained that his wife and three children persuaded him to accept the television offer.

Simon, who plays Steve McDonald in the soap, said: "It was common knowledge I would never do I'm A Celebrity. But my wife and kids were like, 'Come on Si, you've got to do it, you will have fun.' And so, I've said.
