For more than a decade, Roya Rasouli’s life was overshadowed by relentless pain. It stopped her living out her hopes and dreams.

The young woman battled the discomfort in silence for 14 long years until she finally got answers from a doctor. The 27-year-old had severe endometriosis, a chronic condition which affects millions of women worldwide.

Endometriosis is a condition where tissue similar to the lining of the womb grows on the outside, often on the ovaries, fallopian tubes or other areas in the pelvis.

It is incurable and can cause excruciating pain, significantly impacting daily activities most people take for granted. The debilitating condition prevented Roya from living the future she envisioned for herself for almost half of her life.
