Imelda May has voiced her opinion following a controversial tweet from the University of Durham that boldly told students ‘don’t get spiked’.
The messaging in the tweet, which has since been deleted, was accused of dangerously and ignorantly ‘victim blaming’ those who have found themselves the target of these drugs. ‘Drink Spiking is dangerous and something that you can prevent from happening to you and your friends,’ Durham University Student Wellbeing’s Twitter account told students. “#dontgetspiked Contact the police as soon as possible in a suspected case so an investigation can be conducted and others protected.” Hundreds of people, understandably outraged by the post, were quick to show their disappointment in the messaging which
