Keylor Navas has opened up about the moment he broke down in tears when his transfer to Manchester United fell apart. But it wasn't tears of sadness Navas wept on deadline day in the summer of 2015 - but rather tears of joy.
The 38-year-old was touted as a sweetener for United in a swap deal that would have seen goalkeeping counterpart David De Gea move to Real Madrid.
The transfer never materialised, however, after an alleged fax machine malfunction infamously meant the paperwork wasn't submitted on time.
Each goalkeeper remained with their respective clubs as a result, and Navas underlined his relief that he got to remain in the Spanish capital.
