Hundreds of jobs under threat at Perth Thermo Fisher site just months after expansion

Staff were told the news on Wednesday morning.It comes just eight months after the plant at Inveralmond was extended to much fanfare.A deal was struck to bring 200 jobs to the Fair City to help meet the global demand for COVID-19 tests.The American company expanded the site to allow for the manufacture of eight million sample collection tubes a week.It is understood workers were told this week that over-production meant their jobs were now being made redundant.
