Council bosses have issued a warning after cars double parked near a Peak District beauty spot prevented gritting trucks getting through.
Derbyshire County Council said hundreds of people had left their cars near Edale 'making the gritters job very difficult.' The UK last night recorded its coldest night of this winter so far last night with temperatures plummeting well below freezing.
It means the blankets of snow we have seen over the past week has largely remained in place, making for idyllic scenes in areas such as Peak District.
However those embarking on wintry walks are causing problems for those trying to keep transport moving, the council says. In a post on their social media feeds, they said: "We have issues with cars double parked on Rushup Edge and Man Nick on the road down to Edale. "Our gritters cannot get through, and our crews say there must be around 200 cars in the area.
