Charles, Prince of Wales (Charles Philip Arthur George; born 14 November 1948) is the heir apparent to the British throne as the eldest son of Elizabeth II. He has been Duke of Cornwall and Duke of Rothesay since 1952, and he is the oldest and longest-serving heir apparent in British history.
He is also the longest-serving Prince of Wales, having held that title since 1958. Charles was born at Buckingham Palace as the first grandchild of King George VI and Queen Elizabeth. He was educated at Cheam and Gordonstoun schools, which his father, Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, had attended as a child. Charles also spent a year at the Timbertop campus of Geelong Grammar School in Victoria, Australia.
Season 4 of marked the official debut of Princess Diana, who is portrayed by 24-year-old actress Emma Corrin. Spanning from 1979 to 1990, the new season not only chronicled Lady Spencer’s introduction into the family and her rocky marriage to Prince Charles (Josh O’Connor), it also shined a spotlight on several of her early, iconic fashion moments.
In total, costume designer Amy Roberts and assistant costume designer Sidonie Roberts made 80 individual pieces for Diana this season, including 17 outfits for the show’s recreation of her and Charles’ 1983 tour of Australia and a near identical replica of her wedding dress under the guidance of original designer David Emanuel.
