As Storm Barra hits the UK today, it will be bringing strong winds as high as 80 mph in some areas. The Met Office has released a yellow wind warning for Scotland and the north of England as Storm Barra brings strong winds from the southwest of the country.

The storm will be moving slowly throughout the country today and will only begin to settle for most of the country on Wednesday morning.

A yellow warning of wind is in place from 9am on Tuesday until midnight, for England, Wales and parts of Scotland. However, gales will persist in the southwest of England until later that evening.
