He is currently the co-presenter of This Morning (2002–present) and Dancing on Ice (2006–2014, 2018–present) alongside Holly Willoughby. His other work for ITV includes All Star Mr & Mrs (2008–2016), The Cube (2009–2015), and 5 Gold Rings (2017–present). Schofield gained national attention working for the BBC, first as a continuity presenter for Children's BBC on weekdays from 1985 to 1987, then as a presenter on the children's Saturday morning magazine show Going Live! between September 1987 and April 1993.

Holly Willoughby nearly swore during a spider segment on Wednesday's This Morning while "uneasy" fans at home turned off their television screens during the scenes.

During the latest instalment, the ITV chat show decided to look at why people are scared of spiders and how to "spider proof" your home for the winter season.The segment included experts even bringing real spiders onto the show, including a tarantula called Rosie, but it was one feature that left viewers switching off their screens.

Several times during the scenes, pretend spiders would crawl across the TV screen as a special effects feature but it left viewers thinking they were real.

Taking to Twitter, one person said: "#ThisMorning just nearly smashed my TV when that spider ran across the TV. Aahhhh another one.
