Holly Willoughby has reportedly asked bosses at ITV to begin contract negotiations amid reports of a rumoured “rift” between her and This Morning co-host Phillip Schofield.
The ITV co-stars, who have hosted the daytime show together since 2009, were first hit by rumours of a rift earlier this week with Phil releasing a statement about his “difficult few weeks” following reports that he and Holly were "barely speaking" off-camera at the moment.
And now, according to the Mirror, 42 year old Holly has asked her team to contact ITV bosses in an attempt to speed up any decisions being made about their futures on the show as their friendship reportedly hits the rocks. “Holly was considering her position on the show earlier this year,” a source told the publication.
Of Phil, the source continued: “But that is now a real possibility and she wants to see a decision made on both of their futures quickly. “That is what is behind Holly asking her team to reach out to ITV – she is trying to move things forward.” The source added that Holly allegedly sees her distancing from Phil as a potential opportunity to be able to rebrand herself as a “woman’s woman” and that she could present the popular daytime show with Alison Hammond - who is another regular presenter on the programme.
