Its considerable size means it caters to all sorts of holidaymakers from those seeking a tranquil beach getaway to party-goers looking to dive into vibrant nightlife.
However, as with any tourist hotspot, crime can be a concern. A British expat has now sounded the alarm about a particular scam in an area frequented by tourists on the island.
TikTok user @seb_tenerife, who has made Tenerife his home, highlighted a ruse reportedly also prevalent in Benidorm. The con involves someone asking to use your mobile phone under the guise of needing directions or claiming they've lost their companions, only to snatch the phone and make a run for it once it's unlocked.
