A grieving husband has been left appalled after receiving a Council Tax summons for his late wife who passed away two months ago.

Ron Roberts called the letter a 'final insult' to partner Judy Mason, who suffered from numerous chronic health issues and was registered blind, with the couple having faced a 'catalogue of problems' with Sefton Council over the past few years.

He said past troubles with the local authority related to a two-year wait for renovations to their bathroom, during which time the pair were told to "use the gym" to wash, the Liverpool Echo reports.
