dailyrecord.co.ukChris Kamara has been forced to pull out of presenting the UK’s Strongest Man due to his ongoing battle with a speech issue.The popular former football revealed last year that he was suffering with apraxia of speech (AOS) and led to him leaving this role with Sky Sports where he had a role on the Soccer Saturday show.
The condition can make it difficult to pronounce words correctly and Kamara, a midfielder who played for a host of clubs in England, told how people often thought he was “drunk” due to his slurred speech.Ad now he has taken the difficult decision to withdraw from presenting the UK’s Strongest Man area show which he was due to front at the Motorpoint Arena in Nottingham between May 27 and May 29.
He took to his personal Twitter account to say “Due to my ongoing speech problems I have reluctantly pulled out of presenting this year’s UK’s Strongest Man.
The show will be In Nottingham this weekend. If you fancy? Please go along - it’s spectacular.” Earlier this year Karma received an MBE for services to football, anti-racism and charity.
