HBO Drops 'The Last of Us' Teaser on Outbreak Day - Watch!

If you’re unaware, in the original video game, the cordyceps fungus first began spreading around the U.S. on September 26, which is today. Click inside to check out the official trailer! In the new teaser, fans can see Joel and Ellie escaping a quarantine zone, two collapsing skyscrapers they must traverse, Ellie riding a merry-go-round with her childhood friend Riley and Joel running with his daughter Sarah at the onset of the pandemic.
Here’s the official summary: The Last of Us “takes place twenty years after modern civilization has been destroyed. Joel (Pedro Pascal), a hardened survivor, is hired to smuggle Ellie (Bella Ramsey), a 14-year-old girl, out of an oppressive quarantine zone.
What starts as a small job soon becomes a brutal, heartbreaking journey, as they both must traverse across the U.S. and depend on each other for survival.” The Last of Us, which also stars Gabriel Luna, Nick Offerman, Anna Torv, Murray Bartlett, and Merle Dandridge, is expected to premiere in early 2023.
