The force has shared images of what was seized during the bust on social media after the weapons were made safe by specialists.

The photos show what appears to be a large machete, as well as three other bladed weapons and a small baseball bad. Pictures also show a quantity of cannabis and other bagged drugs.

Three mobile phones and other objects which have been sealed away in evidence bags are also laid out on the police station table.Another picture shows the front door of the house with its windows smashed in, after having presumably been booted down by cops who were granted a search warrant to enter. The homeowner has been urged to surrender themselves to police, as they were not present at the time of the recovery operation, with enquiries continuing.A spokesperson for Lanarkshire Police Division said: "Cumbernauld Community Officers executed a search warrant at an address in Cumbernauld last week."Unfortunately, the householder was not within when the items pictured were recovered.
