The Duke and Duchess of Sussex reported that they were in a “near catastrophic car chase” following an event and were chased by paparazzi in New York City on May 16, 2023.
Harry’s mother Princess Diana died in a car crash in Paris, France after being pursued by the paparazzi. Her rumored boyfriend, Egyptian businessman Emad “Dodi” Fayed, and the driver of the Mercedes-Benz W140, Henri Paul, were pronounced dead at the scene.
Diana’s bodyguard, Trevor Rees-Jones, survived the crash with serious injuries.
