All this Late Night Talking about Harry Styles playing James Bond seems to be nudging him ever closer to donning that famous white tuxedo. The dramatic slashing of his odds to a stunningly low 14-1 follows a flurry of betting this week on the former One Direction star succeeding Daniel Craig, who stepped down from the role after last year's No Time To Die.

Nicola McGeady of Ladbrokes said: “Although Henry Cavill is favourite to become the next James Bond, punters have different ideas. The franchise have talked about surprising the audience with their choice, and Harry Styles would certainly do that." Indeed, as Styles' movie Don’t Worry Darling went down a storm at the box office, a new wave of punters really do believe Harry is next in line to the 007 throne. This is a huge swing from the 33-1 bookies were offering only recently. The momentum now means Harry has left fellow one-time 66-1 longshots - Thor's Chris Hemsworth and Star Wars' Ewan McGregor - firmly in the dust.

But Henry Cavill is still leading the pack priced at 2/1 to take over the role after impressing as the lead in The Witcher and Superman in various DC Universe films.

Second in line is Bridgerton beau Regé-Jean Page, who last year told The Mirror: "I think if you are British and do anything of note, that other people take notice of, then people will start talking about that (Bond). "That's fairly normal and I'm flattered to be in the category of Brits that people have noticed. The concept of having plans in this moment in history is mildly hilarious.
