Get the stories that matter to you sent straight to your inbox with our daily newsletter.A Hamilton pensioner is switching his Christmas lights on early – to help bring some joy back to people’s lives.Ian Cochran has been lighting up the neighbourhood for over 30 years with elaborate festive decor at his home in Burnblea Street.And he is determined not to let Covid-19 dampen the spirits of the youth.The 68-year-old admits the global pandemic could negatively affect people’s this year, however he is willing to do his bit to help.December 1 is when the lights are traditionally switched on, but this year Ian is starting the festivities early as they may be needed more than usual.
