Greater Manchester Police has promised residents that "late night sweeps" will begin to be undertaken in efforts to "root out" anti social behaviour.

The move comes after numerous reports from Longsight and Moss Side residents within the area's tower blocks. Police say that following a Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting they received multiple complaints, which has triggered them to take action.

Vigilance of such issues will be further undertaken during late night and early morning hours. Longsight & Moss Side Police tweeted earlier this morning (February 14): "Following tonight's PACT meeting, residents reported anti social behaviour within the tower blocks in our area.

As such, there will now be late night sweeps by officers to root out the culprits."
