The Met Office have warned of potential flooding and travel disruption as the storms are set to move in from later this week.

Most of the country has been enjoying a prolonged period of hot and sunny weather, but that could come to an abrupt end. A yellow warning for thunderstorms has been issued by the weather service from 6pm on Wednesday until 6am on Friday.

The warning covers all of Greater Manchester, including some parts of Lancashire, Yorkshire and other areas of the country. According to the Met Office, cloudier and more unsettled weather
