It comes four months after it was announced outside consultants had been drafted in to help fix it. But for just a day officers will have to return to paper-based recording of crime.

The force has been dogged by problems since it introduced its Capita-built, Integrated Operational Policing System (iOPS) in July 2019, some 19 months behind schedule.
