ok.co.ukGood Morning Britain’s Ben Shephard appeared emotional as he discussed Kate Garraway’s husband Derek Draper returning home over a year after he was hospitalised.
Derek was admitted to hospital in March 2020 after showing symptoms of coronavirus. He was put into an induced coma to help his recovery and woke up for the first time in October last year to tell doctors he was in pain.The deadly bug "attacked everything", leaving him with kidney failure, damage to his liver and pancreas, as well as heart failure after beating the virus.
As the ITV breakfast show began on Friday morning, Ben discussed the news that Derek is now home with Kate and their two children with co-host Ranvir Singh.
