Scottish Water worked to sort the issue and restore water to the affected premises.Much of the city centre and west end was without water, meaning hospitality businesses in some of Glasgow's most popular areas were forced to shut.

Punters were turned away from popular haunts on streets including Argyle Street, Bath Street, Ashton Lane, Hope Street, and Great Western Road.Italian restaurant Sarti, based on Bath Street, said they were just one of many businesses with a G2 postcode left with no water and unable to open their doors.
