Glasgow City v Hamilton Accies: Doctor's side will 'have a go' at huge favourites in Scottish Cup clash

Hamilton Accies Women face a monumental task to get past the fourth round of the Scottish Cup this weekend, but boss Gary Doctor says his side will “have a go” at Glasgow City on Sunday.The New Douglas Park side travel to Petershill Park to try and oust the Scottish Premier League leaders from the competition but Accies have already suffered a 6-0 thrashing at the hands of their full-time rivals this season.They were also on the end of the same scoreline when the sides went in the fourth round of last season’s Scottish Cup, so they will have their work cut out.Doctor said: “History tells us we will be right up against it.“ We’ve never had a result against them, although we’ve come close a couple of times over the years and not been able to close it out in the final moments.“It’s usually at Petershill that we run them close so we can take confidence from that into the game, that we tend to play a little bit better there.“In some ways expectations are incredibly low from the outside so it is a bit of a free one for us as well.“We want to get a cup run this season but we’ve drawn Glasgow City once again.“I think three of our last four cup draws have been against them early on – it’s not like it is the latter stages and you say fair enough – so that’s tough, drawing the most successful club in the country’s history.“I think the squad realise it is disappointing in some respects to draw them but we just need to go and have a go.“We play them a couple of weeks later in the league as well so January is going to be a difficult month for us and busy as well, trying to fit the Glasgow Girls game (which was postponed on December 18) in also.”This time last year Accies fought tooth and nail and were unlucky to lose out 1-0 at
