A group of up to 12 teens, with estimated ages between 13 and 17, have been breaking into shops in East Hull for the last few months, leaving customers and staff "petrified".In one of their most recent attacks on a supermarket, the youths were allegedly carrying hammers and stole hundreds of pounds worth of stock, causing a young employee to be so shaken that she needed to take time off work, Hull Live reports.
A staff member at the targeted supermarket said: "They’re coming in 10 to 12 of them at a time and all their faces are covered by balaclavas."They are verbally abusive and threatening to staff and, in the particular store I work at they barged their way in on Monday, took over £400 worth of stock and ran out.
Teenage staff were on at the time, a 16-year-old girl, and she had a panic attack."She was in bits, it was horrible. She has come back to work but she’s a little bit on edge so we’ve been making sure we buddy up when we go home and we make sure everyone gets home alright because they are often outside when we finish work."This isn’t the first time they’ve hit our store but it’s by far the worst.
