Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola appears to have given Ederson the seal of approval after the Brazilian audaciously claimed he was the club's best penalty taker.City's players and staff spent Monday evening parading around Manchester city centre on an open-top bus after sealing their fourth Premier League title in five seasons with victory over Aston Villa on Sunday, with thousands of fans lining the streets to join the party and catch a glimpse of the trophy as the squad drank and smoked themselves silly.Towards the end of the parade, the bus emptied onto a stage where City's semi-intoxicated stars got the chance to get on the microphone, and Ederson was asked if he'd ever take a penalty for the club."Of course, I am the best taker of penalties [at the club]. If Pep says it’s okay then I will take one probably," the Brazilian said, prompted an approving nod from Guardiola.City have had an abysmal record from the penalty spot in recent years, with Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Kevin De Bruyne, Ilkay Gundogan, Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus all missing from 12 yards in the past three seasons, and at the start of the season, Ederson insisted that he'd be happy to take one if he was ever asked.The 28-year-old is one of the most technically-gifted goalkeepers in the world and boasts an unrivalled passing range, but could his ability to knock fabulous 80-yard through-balls really translate to penalty-taking? I guess there's only one way to find out.
