A fundraiser for a Scots Hollywood stuntman who suffered a horror leg injury has hit its target thanks to pledges from a host of famous faces.Charlie Allan, 61, who has performed in and co-ordinated battle scenes in a number of major productions, plunged 15-feet whilst building a home gym in Dumfries and has been left unable to walk more than a few feet or perform every day tasks after two blood clots formed behind his left knee.A crowdfunding effort was set up to raise £25,000 for life-changing surgery abroad – which caught the attention of Outlander star Sam Heughan and Hollywood A-lister Russell Crowe who both donated.In addition, Robert and Terri Irwin – the son and wife of the late Australian zookeeper, conservationist and TV personality Steve Irwin, better known as ‘The Crocodile Hunter’ - have also now donated.The fundraiser aimed to raise £25,000 to send Charlie abroad for much-needed surgery to repair damage caused by a blood clot he suffered in the horror fall.At the time of publication, exactly £26,000 has been raised.

We previously told how Hollywood star Crowe made a generous £5,000 pledge and Outlander star Sam had donated £2,000 tom the cause.

Robert and Terri Irwin donated more than £1,000.Charlie is the chief executive of the Clanranald Trust – a charity promoting Scotland’s culture and history through battle re-enactment company Combat International at Duncarron Medieval Village in the Carron Valley.He has worked on a host of top film and TV productions and he struck up a friendship with Crowe on the set of Gladiator, before working with one another once again on Robin Hood.
