A fresh police appeal has been issued for information in a murder case dating back more than 20 years. Lamduan Armitage, who would now be aged in her 50s, was discovered dead by walkers in a stream at Sell Gill, near Pen-y-ghent in Yorkshire, on September 20, 2004.

Her remains lay unidentified for 15 years, and she became known as the Lady Of The Hills until her parents saw a news report and made contact with the police, confirming her identity.

In 2019, North Yorkshire Police's Major Investigation Team’s Cold Case Review Unit achieved a breakthrough using a combination of media coverage and DNA testing.

It was established that she was married mother of three who was living in northern England at the time of her unexplained death.
