While in Spain, Ronaldo scaled new heights and won a total of four UEFA Champions League titles as well as scoring a plethora of goals.
Messi was Ronaldo's biggest rivals with the pair constantly being compared as they routinely swept individual awards, mainly the Ballon d'Or - Messi has six to Ronaldo's five.
Since being back at United, Ronaldo has continued to score goals on a consistent basis while Messi has struggled to adapt his new surroundings in France with Paris Saint-Germain.
