For months now our bills have only been going one way and that's up. If there's one place we notice it more it's at the supermarket and our weekly price comparison has been keeping track of the cost of basics like milk and bread since March.
We've seen prices rocket, we've seen the yo-yo effect of Aldi Price Match and for a short time it seemed prices were finally settling when we had little change at all. Read more: Sleep chart branded 'absurd' as teacher shares exact time kids should go to bed But it seems we're not there yet and out of six supermarkets this week, the price of our basket of shopping has risen at all but one.
Only Morrisons stayed the same, but as it's still the most expensive of all, at £12.02, there's little reason to celebrate. Four of the six supermarkets have this week hiked the price of butter again.
We're not talking a couple of pence either. At Sainsbury's, Tesco and Aldi, it's gone from £1.75 to £1.99, while at Asda it's gone from £1.75 to £2.
