Former Rangers winger Gregg Wylde has thanked East Kilbride for the way they have handled his exit to Dumbarton. The 30-year-old has signed for the Sons on a deal until the end of the season after joining Lowland League Kilby at the start of this term, pursuing promotion to the SPFL.He's been a key player for manager Chris Aitken but is the latest EK player to leave in the last fortnight, following Chris Erskine, Blair Malcolm and Ryan Blair's respective departures.Wylde featured as a trialist for the Sons against Falkirk on Saturday and his move is now official.

He last played SPFL football with Clyde in 2020 and won the SPL with Rangers at the start of his career. He told our sister site, the Lennox Herald : "Starting the season at East Kilbride my aim was to get in a team going for a league.

I played every minute of every game, captained the team and played really well. "The manager (Chris Aitken) was fantastic and always said he wouldn’t stand in anyone’s way if they wanted to move on."Our last game was Cumbernauld Colts at Broadwood.

He spoke to a few boys who were moving on, but I wasn’t one of them. I had a contract and I wanted to stay at East Kilbride."He phoned me on Boxing Day and said Dumbarton were interested.
