Jayden Mitchell-Lawson says he's ready to light up the Championship after heading north to join Lee Bullen's Ayr United overhaul.

The former Derby County winger becomes the fifth signing of the summer down Tryfield Place.And the 22-year-old insists he's aiming big as he looks to make an impact and turn heads in the Scottish game.

Mitchell-Lawson joins Ayr on a two-year deal after leaving Swindon Town of League Two in England. He told the Ayrshire Post: "This is the sort of move that represents a huge opportunity for me. "The club is looking to achieve a lot of success moving forward and that fits with where I want to go."The Scottish Championship is a really good league with some big clubs - and Ayr are among them."So coming here is a massive chance for me to show what I can do on a good platform to do it."Mitchell-Lawson entered the youth ranks at Swindon before winning a move to Derby in the English Championship at just 16.He spent four years at Pride Park, which included a loan spell at Bristol Rovers, before returning to Swindon last season.And now he finds himself looking to ignite his career as part of the Bullen revolution.He added: "I had a good conversation with the gaffer here and he spoke to me on a personal level."It made me really excited to come up...everyone has been so welcoming and now I want to kick on prove what I can do."I also spoke to Kyle McAllister, who I know from being down at Derby.
