Football fan dies five years after being battered by hooligan gang

Simon suffered permanent brain damage as a result of the vicious assault. He was also left unable to walk or talk.Thirteen men were convicted in 2017 for the attack.From that group, 12 were jailed for a total of 42 years between them.Mr Dobbin, 48, tragically passed away at his hom in Mildenhall, Suffolk on Wednesday.Cambridge United said in a statement published on its website: "It is with a heavy heart that Cambridge United can confirm we have received the devastating news that Simon Dobbin sadly passed away at home this.
