Food chain giants Burger King and Starbucks could be the big names to headline a major new development proposed for the outskirts of Perth. The American fast-food burger restaurant and Seattle coffeehouse would fill two of the three restaurant/drive-thru unit slots proposed next door to Broxden Park and Ride. The latest plans, submitted to Perth and Kinross Council this month, also include business units (Class 4), an electric vehicle charging hub and 138 car parking bays. Both Burger King and Starbucks cafe would have their own indoor and outdoor seating areas and drive-thru lanes with their own shared parking and EV charging spaces. The proposed third food unit is current unassigned but will have the same utilities with the project intended to provide a “breadth of options for travellers and customers”.The business unit proposed will have around 1,954sqm of floorspace and will be split into 14 units of varying sizes, tailored to small businesses looking for an “attractive place” to set up or expand. The application, lodged by agent Graham + Sibbald on behalf of Drysdale Holdings Ltd, is not the only one the council is currently considering for the Broxden Services Area.West Coast Estates and SSE partnered up and submitted separate plans in February for further drive-thrus just west of the Travelodge Hotel at Broxden.Cafe/restaurant facilities, an EV charging hub and hydrogen refuelling station used for powering fuel cell electric vehicles including provision of amenity kiosk, charging apparatus and associated works, would be built.Constructed on land hugging the M90 and A9, the new facilities would join up the wider provision and mix of services already situated off Broxden Avenue, including Broxden Manor Harvester
