Dozens of flights have been suspended after snow hit parts of the UK following the coldest night of the year on Tuesday. The Met Office has said temperatures at Kinbrace in the Highlands dropped to minus 15.4C overnight, the lowest of the year so far.

The white stuff is set to hit Greater Manchester tomorrow (Thursday), with yellow weather warnings in place until Friday afternoon.

Meanwhile parts of the south have already been affected, with Bristol Airport temporarily closed today for 'snow clearing operations' with morning flights cancelled, and delays also affecting passengers at other airports in the south of England.

At least 27 departing flights have been affected by snow, while several arrivals have been diverted to Birmingham.
