First pic of tragic Scots schoolboy Aidan Rooney who died after getting into difficulty in River Clyde

River Clyde has been pictured for the first time. Aidan Rooney, from Wishaw, was pulled from the water at Garrion Bridge by emergency services on Sunday after the alarm was raised shortly after 3pm.

The popular 13-year-old was rushed to Glasgow’s Royal Hospital for Children but tragically could not be saved by medics. His death is not being treated as suspicious while dozens of heartfelt tributes have poured in for the teenager.Claire Connelly, headteacher of St Aidan's High School, said: “We are deeply shocked and saddened at the news of Aidan's tragic passing."Aidan was a pupil in second year and was a very popular boy who liked to help others.
